A New Form of Art: Trading Cards!

I've been a trading card fan since childhood. I have been collecting and making Artist Trading Cards for about a year. Now with my daughter collecting Pokemon, BellaSara, and Webkinz cards, I am spending time at the Collectible's aisle in WalMart and Target. I noticed Magic and Warcraft, but I did not make my first purchase until I overheard students talking about them. I asked questions, talked about gaming, and next thing I knew, students were bringing their collections to school for me to look through. I was HOOKED!

I've compiled a lovely collection and along the way dabbled with MagicOnline. I buy the packets of cards and rip into them like a fiend, expecting something akin to a winning lottery ticket! I have a few cards that are bringing $10-20 on the market, according to magazines, but I haven't 'tapped' into that market! I hope to sell them to recover some of my shopping expenses!

I get such joy out of sorting, organizing, and reading about my cards.

One student gave me a handful of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and I found a small YGO album for $3, so I do have a collection of that game. I've compiled an album of special Mint Pokemon cards, and I am shopping for a small Warcraft album for the handful of those cards I've acquired.

I also am interested in a line called "Masters of Japanimation" but will have to buy those online. Another day.

I bought two packs of Marvel VS system and got a "Ghost Rider" (and a few others) out of it, but I really do NOT like that line.

I keep eyeballing the sports cards, especially WNBA (go, girlz), but haven't made that step yet. Right now, it's all about the MAGIC!
